It promises to be a very busy one. Now when I started doing these wine tours 8 years ago, I might have been the only one. Now there are many companies and many approaches. With so many visitors wanting to check out the wine scene here, the vehicles have gotten bigger and bigger. Not so with Safowi! My tours are never more than 6, unless of course your group is larger than 6. So, if you want a private tour feeling with a semi private price you have come to the right place.
The 2014 vintage is bottled and fabulous! I will be doing a horizontal tasting in a few weeks of this year's offerings so stay tuned... It amazes me how the quality is always so high and consistent here. We do get rather extreme weather from time to time, which could adversely effect the fruit. High winds, high temperatures are most prevalent. This winter it actually snowed twice, but since the vines are dormant during winter it doesn't hurt them. What hurts are the high winds or cold wet in the springtime when they are flowering. Have you ever seen a grape flower??
